How shrinkflation works

When a bag of chips shrinks from 11oz to 9.25oz at the same price, you paid 19% more per ounce. The government's official inflation measure tracks the price of the bag, not the price per ounce. We track price per unit — the number that actually tells you whether you're getting the same value.
